This was a tough one but an old memory came to mind and gave me a little inspiration.
Ingrid poked the tip of her tongue through her pink lips. She folded and refolded the green paper square as she tried to fashion it into an origami frog. On the table beside her sat a somewhat distinguishable crane as well as some not-so-finished crumpled paper.
Owen groaned in frustration; he hadn’t been as successful. The table in front of him was littered with multi-coloured, crumpled squares. Only one resembled some sort of creature, though it was anyone’s guess as to what it was.
“I give up!” Ingrid folded her arms.
“At least you made something.” Owen closed the origami book. “Hang on!” he said suddenly and pulled two bills from his wallet. He busily folded them. When he was finished he placed them on his fingertips.
“Grandpa’s shoes!” Ingrid clapped as Owen danced his fingers over the table in their tiny elf shoes and they giggled their frustration away.
