I literally changed direction with this at the very end. I hope you like it!
“This is tough.” Robert said. If they got this last clue they were sure to win the scavenger hunt. “Any idea?” He asked his partner.
Janet studied the wall. “Nope.”
Deep wrinkles creased Robert’s forehead. “So, what’s the question?”
“Six times seven?” Janet shrugged.
“How high or long?” Janet’s eyes brightened.
Robert tilted his head and stepped back. “No.”
Janet joined him then smiled broadly. “Count the tree tops.”
Robert counted. “42,” he said.
They walked to the end of the wall and found the last tree on the other side. Robert easily spied the number painted on its trunk and searched the grounds. “Got it!” He opened the last clue and held it out to Janet. “Ready for the last question?” He smiled.
“We make a great team,” she said then read the note.
“We do.” Robert pulled a diamond ring from his pocket. “So will you?”
